As a child, Sancar, the son of a poor landowner, fell in love with Nare, the daughter of an ambassador on holiday in Bodrum. Their love never disappeared and, finally, Nare and Sancar reunite. But on that very night, Nare disappears.

Some say that she fell into the sea and died; some say that the daughter of the ambassador fled to Europe. A lover sang a folk song for them, saying that the daughter of the ambassador became a pied bird and flew away. In this way, the tragic story of Nare and Sancar becomes an epic.
